Bresnahan, of CIO magazine states “Honda has not bought a million dollar vision robotics machine like those used by other auto makers to digitalize images for prototyping; the company figures technology in general is fundamentally unreliable and its engineers can come up with better solutions on their own.” Future problems may arise if the quality of engineers at Honda declines in any way, for it sounds as if the company is lacking in the information systems department.

Honda is so concerned with quality that they have literally taken a hands on approach in that they actually have personnel go directly to the problem site when problems arise to deal with problems in person. This has saved them money in the past being that they had top level engineers working on problems hands on. However being that the world is changing from an Industrial period to Information systems Honda must make sure that they keep up with the changing times.

Honda has been able to become a cutting edge company by focusing on quality and customer satisfaction. Now that the global market is becoming so diversified through IT technology they are going to have to think more about it. They may not have to be a company that puts itself in jeopardy by implementing systems that are not proven worthy. However, if they want to continue with their success they better pay very close attention to how their competitors are running things.
